Luigi, You can download Lubuntu 11.10 Oneiric Ocelot [1], upgrade all the packages, and then hit 'Alt+F2' to open the run dialog and type 'update-manager -d -c' and it will let you upgrade to Precise. This is how I got my Dell Latitude D505 with a non-pae Pentium M running Lubuntu Precise.
At this point, based off of everyone's testing, this seems the safest upgrade path for non-pae to Precise (the mini.iso seems to pose some problem or another to everyone who uses it). Someone from the bug report below has made a non-pae Ubuntu Precise LiveCD, and I think this will be what is needed moving forward; if Canonical won't support non-pae adequately, then the community will have to take up the slack :) You can find the bug report for this at [2] and an Ubuntu Forums thread at [3] and [4]. Testing and supporting non-pae is also an ongoing topic on this lubuntu-qa@lists.launchpad.net list. -Steven [1]: http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/lubuntu/releases/oneiric/release/ [2]: launchpad.net/bugs/930447 [3]: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1924455 [4]: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1937376 On Fri, Mar 9, 2012 at 11:46 AM, Phill Whiteside <phi...@ubuntu.com> wrote: > Hi Luigi, > > the only one available for you would be the 10.04 release of lubuntu which > we keep alive precisely for that reason.
