Public bug reported: Run Lubuntu Next 18.04 Beta 1 as a live USB. Once you are in to the desktop (having selected openbox as the display manager during installation), there is nothing visible on the screen except the mouse cursor and the "Install Lubuntu Next 18.0..." shortcut. This is because the panel at the bottom of the screen has no widgets (bug #1754502) and the default LXQt theme, Dark, makes the panel background the same colour as the desktop background. It should be somewhat different, either by changing the default desktop or default panel background colours.
