Red Hat Support Engineer (GSS Brazil)
GSS - Global Support Services is responsible for providing technical support to enterprise class customers throughout the world. Global
Support Services is a dynamic, fast-paced environment focused on delivering "best of class" support while maintaining a high level of
customer satisfaction.
Position Summary
Defines, designs, supports and troubleshoots services and solutions using Red Hat Enterprise Products (Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Red Hat Cluster Suite, Red Hat GFS and others). Performs level 1 and level 2 online/phone support to enterprise customers. Applies company policies and procedures to resolve customer's issues. May participate in development of IS/IT projects. Works closely with Red Hat Engeneering Development team to drive features requests and bug fixes. Communicates technical information to both technical and non-technical personnel.
Requirements
Requires a minimum of two (2) years UNIX/Linux experience, preferably Red Hat Enterprise Linux and related Red Hat products, and administration of systems in a Corporate environment. Ideal candidate would possess RHCE/RHCT. Strong Linux and Computer Hardware troubleshooting skills required, as well as experience many of the following: BIND, LDAP, Sendmail, NIS, Cyrus IMAP, DHCP, Samba, Cups, LVM, PAM, Apache, System and Network management. Must have ability to script in shell. Understanding of Cluster/GFS a plus. Ability to work independently, under minimal supervision a must have. Strong customer service, communication and documentation skills, as well as ability to interact and communicate with team members globally required (english skills required). Candidate must be a team player. Candidate must possess strong computer ethics, as this position will be dealing with company confidential data.
