Sir, This is in response to M.Ali Siddiqi's article in Dawn today. Who is doing all this - 70 killed in Peshawar in Juma Prayers? The petro dollars and the ideology from Najd Saudi Arabia. There can be no comparison between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. Saudis wiped out entire villages belonging to the tribes that had occupied the Haram e Kaba in late 1979. They showed no mercy what so ever. There was no trial. No one knows how many were put to sword. They did not even follow the Haram Shareef's Allah's laws. French soldiers were summoned as non-Muslims (who are not allowed in Hudood e Haram) and entered Haram Shareef. Water was let in then all were electrocuted and shot out in the most sacrosanct of the places where in the precincts of Haram you cannot even kill an ant. They did every thing legal and illegal. And here when the government showed consideration in case of Lal Masjid and delayed trying to persuade them to settle peacefully they say why did they delay and why they did this and then. They keep criticising the Govt. only, endlessly. The culprits are the anchors and the guests they call in TV shows. Anchors are no moderators. They take sides with the terrorists somehow to make a hero out of them. But they would never criticise the Islamic militants. They would never ask where and what was the need of weapons in a masjid and madrassah? To that they reply the govt. put the weapons in. Absurdity knows no bounds. OK even if granted govt. put the weapons in, why did they accept it? They should have refused saying they do not need weapons inside such places of learning and worship. On the contrary they fought pitched battles with the Army and yet these so called religious people like JI Qazi Hussain Ahmed and Mr. Baloch support them. Where is their moral high ground. Anybody showing any soft corner for the terrorists in the media directly or indirectly and those actually supporting them with words and deeds must be put to trial and hanged at the nearest lamp post. Until we do that there can be no hope at all. In Saudi Arabia there is no freedom of thought leave alone expression. Do not compare a fascist brutal regime to ours a humane and a benevolent regime in comparison. These militants who follow the ideology of Najd - Saudi Arabia do not accept their laws on themselves but do want to apply their repression to the helpless populations under them. Salafism and Wahabism must be fought at all levels.
