Dear Sabih,

I agree with you to the extent that people of Pakistan want food, water and
electricity. However, all these basic necessities are tied up to economic
prosperity. One cannot just give these necessities to people when the need
it. It’s a whole economic system through which people generate these
necessities though their participation.

If there is lawlessness in a country, economic activities just cannot
flourish. Educated people scared about their and their children future
start leaving the country, foreign investors knowing such brain drain and
corruption in the society do not enter into such country. Limited jobs in
country are granted to non deserving people which frustrates deserving
people who either look for Canada immigration / UK HSMP / US green card/
jobs abroad or get involved into illegal activities, justifying their acts
blaming on society for not providing them opportunity.

One has to look at a broader picture. I work for Power (Electricity)
sector, and I assure you that electricity problem cannot be resolve without
foreign investment. Pakistan just doesn’t have enough liquidity to fund
power project for 3 to 4 thousand megawatt. If we put ourselves in foreign
investors’ shoe, would we invest our money in a lawless country?

It’s not PPP, PML or X Y Z would give food, electricity and water, it’s the
economic system which has to be strengthened. And strengthening economic
system directly depends on law & order, justice, skilled resources and
foreign investment.

Kind regards,

Hammad
