No .xsession file exists I'm afraid. I do have a .Xresources that
defines xterm size and fonts, but I guess this shouldn't be relevant.
Any more insights is appreciated.

BTW, good news is that after another linux image upgrade from
anheng.com.cn the new kernel does have a working WIFI, so that part
has been solved. For Debian official kernel, it seems that the
wireless device is hard blocked. From my tests, Fn+F5 and 'rfkill
unblock 0' only works for soft blocker. Not sure where to unblock the
hard one.
