Call for Submissions Third RatioLog Workshop: Logic, Rationality, and Probability
The Third RatioLog Workshop, focusing on Logic, Rationality, and Probability, invites submissions of original research for presentation at this exciting interdisciplinary event. The workshop will be held from *May 5th to 9th*, 2025, at the University of Campinas (UNICAMP). This event is sponsored by Northeastern University, FAPESP, and the Centre for Logic, Epistemology and the History of Science (CLE). We are pleased to offer *special grants* to PhDs and Masters students from other universities that want to present in this edition. Students from the north and northeast of Brazil are particularly encouraged to apply for grants. This edition features *comprehensive tutorials* alongside two *short courses* designed for graduate and undergraduate students. Workshop Theme This workshop brings together researchers from logic, philosophy, mathematics, and related disciplines to explore the interplay between logic, rationality, and probability. We aim to foster dialogue on foundational, methodological, and applied aspects of these topics, emphasizing both theoretical advances and practical applications. Topics of interest include (but are not limited to): - Formal theories of rationality and reasoning - Non-classical logics and rationality - Probabilistic logics and reasoning under uncertainty - Connections between logic and probability theory - Epistemic logic and belief dynamics - Decision theory and game theory - Computational models of reasoning and decision-making - Automated reasoning systems - Philosophical perspectives on logic and probability - Applications of logic and probability in AI, machine learning, and cognitive science Submission Guidelines Submissions of abstracts must be formatted in LaTeX and submitted to administrat...@thirdratiolog.io by *March 31*, 2025. Abstracts must be written in English, and they must be between 200 and 500 words. Abstracts must include a brief introduction to the topic of presentation and detail the objective and content of your presentation. Ensure that your name and other relevant author information are included in the abstract. The .tex template that you should use to send the abstract can be downloaded here <https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1lT0jQ0VP4ZyCt28ocnPJscoWLFoyKSfI?usp=sharing> . Along with the submission of your abstract, you should also submit a .doc file containing the following information: name, university affiliation, interest in applying for a grant and, if you have interest in applying for the grant, all traveling costs information (travel, from where, living costs for your stay in Campinas). Important Dates - Submission Deadline: March 31st, 2025 - Notification of Acceptance: April 15th, 2025 - Workshop Date: May 5th to 9th, 2025 Keynote Speakers We are pleased to announce the following confirmed keynote speakers: - Branden Fitelson (Northeastern University) - Walter Carnielli (UNICAMP/CLE) - Marcelo E.
