Dear Benjamín René Callejas Bedregal,

ICFC 2009 - International Conference on Fuzzy Computation - has currently an
open call for papers, whose deadline is at the end of this month. We hope to
count with your participation in this conference by submitting a paper
reflecting your research.
ICFC 2009 will be held in Funchal, Madeira (a Portuguese sub-tropical island in
the Atlantic), next October 5-7, and it aims at becoming a top reference for
researchers and practitioners in its area.

Fuzzy computation is a field that encompasses the theory and application of
fuzzy sets and fuzzy logic to the solution of information processing and
systems-analysis problems. Bolstered by information technology developments, the
extraordinary growth of fuzzy computation in recent years has led to major
applications in fields ranging from medical diagnosis and automated learning to
image understanding and systems control.

This meeting will take place yearly, bringing together top researchers and
practitioners in the study, analysis, design, modeling and implementation of
fuzzy systems, especially those related to ICFC main topic areas. The conference
is co-located with two related conferences in a joint conference format,
namely:
- Evolutionary Computation (http://www.icec.ijcci.org/)
- Neural Computation (http://www.icnc.ijcci.org/)
Registration to one conference allows free access to all IJCCI conferences.

The technical program will include a number of Keynote Lectures to be delivered
by distinguished world-class researchers, including:
- Erol Gelenbe, Imperial College London, U.K.
- Janusz Kacprzyk, Systems Research Institute / Polish Academy of Sciences,
Poland
- Jouko Lampinen, Helsinki University of Technology, Finland
- Witold Pedrycz, University of Alberta, Canada
- Leonid Perlovsky, Harvard University, U.S.A.
- Qiang Shen, Aberystwyth University, U.K.
- Edward Tsang, University of Essex, U.K.

Submitted papers will be subject to a double-blind review process. All accepted
papers will be published in the conference proceedings, under an ISBN reference,
in paper and in CD-ROM support. Additionally, a selection of the best papers of
the conference will be published by Springer-Verlag in the series "Studies in
Computational Intelligence". Best paper awards will also be distributed during
the conference.
The conference proceedings will be indexed in the DBLP Computer Science
Bibliography.

Special sessions are also invited. If you'd like to take the opportunity to
gather your R&D project group or hold a meeting within the scope of IJCCI at the
conference venue, please contact the secretariat. Special session papers will be
included in the conference proceedings.

Kind regards,
Vera Coelho
