thanks a lot for offering your help. It's great to have local initiatives and people who are interested in settings things up and putting some great work into it. Some already pointed out an often discussed subject (although I had wished some of them had welcomed you and your offer of help a bit more): we have a variety of different LoCo teams: some of them are based on language, others on the country, others on cities, and so on. A lot of them grew organically and were just there when we first did a census of which teams are out there. Our main concern here is that there are teams in countries which don't speak to each other and don't work with each other. This makes it easy to duplicate work and not learn from each other. To sum up what others said in this thread (and elsewhere): Everybody should feel: * empowered to start initiatives * welcomed by the larger community for their offer of help * they can contribute new projects to a larger team But: * we should promote a sense of being part of a bigger team * keep communication channels open all the time * do our best to learn from each other In the above I picked up some lose strands of conversation in this thread and from UDS (particularly the Leadership Mini-Summit) and I hope we can all agree on this. Coming back to your initial request: I'm sure we can easily bring you together with other Indian LoCo team people, so you can figure out how to get out the most for India, Kerala and you. :-) Have a great day, Daniel -- Get involved in Ubuntu development! developer.ubuntu.com/packaging And follow @ubuntudev on identi.ca/twitter.com/facebook.com/gplus.to -- loco-contacts mailing list loco-contacts@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/loco-contacts
