the old semanticHighlighting protocol is deprecated and will be removed in
clangd 13. clangd 12 should warn about this.
29472bb76915c4929aecc938300f6df31f63ac29 adds a trivial log statement.
I didn't manage to commit it before the branch though... could it be
cherrypicked?
