            Bug ID: 42944
           Summary: Transform hypot(a, b) to sqrt(a*a + b*b) in fast math
                    mode
           Product: libraries
           Version: trunk
          Hardware: PC
                OS: Linux
            Status: NEW
          Severity: enhancement
          Priority: P
         Component: Scalar Optimizations
          Assignee: unassignedb...@nondot.org
          Reporter: david.bolvan...@gmail.com
                CC: llvm-bugs@lists.llvm.org

hypot(a, b) to sqrt(a*a + b*b) in -Ofast?

1, Is it ok to increase uses of a,b? Since pow(a, 2) is optimized to a*a,
probably yes..

2, Is a probability of overflow for 'a*a + b*b' high or not ? (whether this
transformation is fine for -Ofast)
