Bug ID: 33436
Summary: clang-format comments-out include file (while
re-sorting include-directives)
Product: clang
Version: 3.8
Hardware: PC
OS: Linux
Status: NEW
Severity: enhancement
Priority: P
Component: Formatter
Assignee: unassignedclangb...@nondot.org
Reporter: dchir...@gmail.com

Source-code, before & after clang-format
* given the input-file: "before.c" (attached & listed below):
=== BEGIN :: before.c ===
/*#include <limits.h>
#include <time.h>*/
#include "my_h_file.h"
=== END :: before.c ===
* clang-format (version 3.8.0-2ubuntu4 (tags/RELEASE_380/final), Ubuntu 16.04)
produces:
=== BEGIN :: after.c ===
/*#include <limits.h>
#include "my_h_file.h"
#include <time.h>*/
=== END :: after.c ===
I like the re-ordering of include-files. However, after applying clang-format
the 3rd include-directive becomes commented-out, which breaks the code. I admit
that this is a corner case, but maybe some other users also encountered/will
encounter this problem?
