We are trying for a progression Community project ---- incubation ---> OSGeo project.
Thanks for working through this Cameron, Vicky and everyone we have not had a project apply since OSGeo Community projects were created last year and we will have a few of these discussion as we learn the ropes. Aside: We just went through a round of discussion on this with respect to the presentation of existing projects in the incubation program. A community project is an acknowledgement that a project is doing something right, and a way in which OSGeo is helping promote open source. The larger goal for OSGeo is outreach on open source as a better way to develop software and OSGeo Live can be a great example to be followed. Checking the repositories now both OSGeoLive and OSGeoLive-Docs have a little bit of work to do before they would quality as a community project (specifically a CONTRIBUTING.md for GitHub projects that is shown to potential contributors when they make a pull request). But we can discuss this on the incubation list when you are ready :) -- Jody Garnett On 2 September 2017 at 12:56, Cameron Shorter <cameron.shor...@gmail.com> wrote: > Hi Jody, > > I raised concerns in the OSGeo-Live meeting about becoming an OSGeo > community project.
