After all, I remember that your script was there before, under beta folder right?

Hi Jachym,

Please commit you script in svn under bin folder.
When time comes I will link it in the main build script.

Thanks,
Angelos

I have nothing against pushing it to next release, I understand, that
we are feature freeze phase right now

btw, shell I append the install script to svn/trunk already? any issue
with that? I can fix the script in svn afterwards ?

Hi Jachym,

There's a typo in your build script on line 67 [1]

wget -c "https://github.com/geopython/PyWPS/aaggrchive/pywps-3.2.2.tar.gz";
                                                ^^^^

If PyWPS is not essential for one of the FOSS4G workshop then it would make sense to wait for OSGeo Live 8.5 for better testing.

Ian

I agree with Ian.

To avoid confusion I think we should perhaps update our overview and
split up web services [1]. Now it reads: "publishing spatial data to
the internet". That does not cover all services, nor is the list very
understandable.

I suggest split it up in data publishing services, metadata publishing
services, processing services and other services. With a short
explanation of what they mean with a reference to the pages describing
the standards that we already have [2].

I believe these standards pages also need some more care. I really
wonder if anyone who is not familiar can read those.

The user with little domain-specific knowledge should probably first
find out that what he really needs is a WPS service, and then have a
look at the different possibilities. In fact one could argue that we
could have a quickstart about consuming the services could be separate
from the quickstart for configuring services...

I agree that PyWPS should be included in OSGeoLive in 8.5.

Having a better application to demonstrate its capabilities, or a quickstart using QGIS WPS plugin would be a nice thing to have. Same applies for Iris, a nice demonstration is what new users will see first ;)

Best,
Angelos
