Hello! I am working on National Boards Entry 1 for Early Adolescent/English

Language Arts. I have to include student responses to a "printed literary

text" and a "nonprint medium such as a film, a work of art, a recording, or

a staged production."

My question: Would a wordless picture book qualify as the "nonprint medium"?

Thanks!

Kim

It would but does the picture book reflect rigorous standards or learning
experiences?

Seems to me that's still "print" since a printed picture is on the

page. I think they would be looking for something that is not in book

form.

Good luck

Alison

Kim,

I would almost suggest you just call them and check it out directly with

the source. Hard to tell if "print" means actually writing, or the format

in which the knowledge is presented (as opposed to digital, for example).

Take care,

I would think that a picture book would not count. The book itself is

printed even if there aren't any words.

Looking for rubrics on student made picture books. Inwork with seventh

and eighth remedial students. They will be non fiction.

Thanks, Alice
