Just as an aside, you can actually restore from *parts of* a backup without a reboot, as I discovered when updating a 1.2 config for a 2.2 install last week (there were so many differences in hardware between the platforms I didn't want to do a full restore, but I did want to preserve all the NAT rules and DHCP static mappings). If you only specify a single section to restore on the 'Backup/Restore' tab - and assuming that section is something fairly innocuous, you don't need to reboot.
