Anyway good news is its been figured it out, and reassuringly for me its the Palo Alto at fault :) I know nothing had changed the pfsense side and I was told nothing had changed the Palo Alto side so was assuming it was the speedport or Telekom but after insisting Palo Alto was rebooted all started flowing fine - seems there is active/passive pair and the second one became active last night which clearly hasn't got a full working config.
