Sorry i forgot to mention, may be somebody else mentioned it before:
The other way around is may be a bit easier.,
Build packages for the actual PfSense Release ( or your own iso )
Port the actual System(s) to your newly made PfSense with the usage of the
ported apps/packages etc...
