I tested Open VPN with an android phone the other day.

Is the client used. Worked very well.

FYI it was certificate and password I was using

This is welcome news indeed! I see there are various OpenVPN clients now 
available for Android 4, that don't require rooting, do you have anything to 
share of your experience with the different apps please?
