At least the openvpn server starts without problems. Having that removed
there is no start possible:

OpenVPN 2.2.0 i386-portbld-freebsd8.1 [SSL] [LZO2] [eurephia] [MH]
[PF_INET6] [IPv6 payload 20110424-2 (2.2RC2)] built on Aug 11 2011
openvpn[55758]: NOTE: the current --script-security setting may allow
this configuration to call user-defined scripts
openvpn[55758]: TUN/TAP device /dev/tap1 opened
openvpn[55758]: do_ifconfig, tt->ipv6=0, tt->did_ifconfig_ipv6_setup=0
openvpn[55758]: /sbin/ifconfig ovpns1 10.22.1.1 netmask 255.255.255.0
mtu 1500 up
openvpn[55758]: FreeBSD ifconfig failed: external program exited with
error status: 1
openvpn[55758]: Exiting

ifconfig error:

# /sbin/ifconfig ovpns1 10.22.1.1 netmask 255.255.255.0 mtu 1500 up
ifconfig: ioctl (SIOCAIFADDR): Destination address required

What happens after installing the fix? is there documentation i can read
in order to know what's changed?

Regards Udo
