That should have read:

" I am sure not many linux enthusiasts in any  list is ignorant and/or
ungrateful enough to remember him."

Apologies once again for hurting the member's sentiments with my earlier rant.

It's just that I had worked with him and my momories of visting with a
team under his Leadership just before his death on Jan 25-36 2008 to
Kelshi, a village in Ratnagiri to record the vedic recitations to
include as evidence to add another page in Unicode . I was there due
to the fact that I know to recite and recognise variants of veda
recitation audibly and a thing or two about Technology.

It is surprising that even today, in the post colonial perriode,
native Indian contribution to the World civilization in the form or
open source / FLOSS gets ignored methodically, including a few state
governments have started going open source wholesale openly: Kerala,
Maharshtra, TN  etc. of the most Powerful and populous democracy.
