If it is the same problem, then I believe it is fixed by https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/stable/linux-stable.git/commit/drivers/usb/class/cdc-wdm.c?h=linux-4.14.y&id=8fec9355a968ad240f3a2e9ad55b823cf1cc52ff But that was too late for 4.12 stable, so you might have to ask your distro to add it to their kernel.
