Maybe you can get a sample board that way.  However, you ought to be 
able to get the technical documentation for free -- you just need to 
register at plxtech.com.

The driver was originally submitted by Seth Levy two years ago (Is that
right?... It seems too recent) in commit ceb80363b2ec.  I have CC'ed 
him, on the change that he is still working for PLX Technologies.
