Well, shoot. I'm sorry, John, but I've run out of ideas about how to fix this device. Without a bus analyzer, it would be difficult to figure out why the device works under Windows but not under Linux. The best thing I can suggest is to buy a new good quality USB 3.0 cable, ask for a replacement part, or buy a different brand of enclosure.
