Public bug reported: I repeatedly found that when I undo a slice, e.g. selecting "keep right" and then undo, a clip with the original position and size in the timeline is restored, but it does not contain the original piece of video. It is as completely different bit of the original material than before I sliced it, which now sits in place of the original bit.
