It seems that linker tried to build executable file.
When building multiple module source into one module object file,
ld with '-r' option is used.
ld -r -o scharmod.o schar.o procschar.o
*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*
