__LITTLE_ENDIAN vs. __LITTLE_ENDIAN_BITFIELD

What's the difference between __LITTLE_ENDIAN and __LITTLE_ENDIAN_BITFIELD? 
Can someone give me an example when __BIG_ENDIAN and __LITTLE_ENDIAN_BITFIELD 
would both be defined simultaneously?
