Agreed in the sense that it's not worth changing existing drivers unless
we have a reason to..

But if the question is raised for what is preferred, I think adding a vendor
is good.  There have been clashes with i2c devices in the past where the
binding without vendor was insufficient to distinguish the part.

Not sure what it was, but I remember the discussion being one of the motivations
to add vendor prefixes to the look up for i2c devices.
