Hi Linus,
  in addition to UML, also ltrace is affected by EIP changes in
ptrace :-(

ptrace(POKE_USER, ..., 4*EIP, ...);
ptrace(PTRACE_SINGLESTEP, ...);

and child died :-( Maybe we should really backout change...
