Hi. I've had great success with your VIA 82Cxxx in 2.4test9 on a new
system I'm helping a friend setup for his mom. Unfortunately, I'm not
having so much luck with the rest of 2.4.
Because of general stability issues, I need to move back to 2.2 on this
system.
However, the VIA 82Cxxx driver in 2.2 (tried Redhat's 2.2.16 RPM as well
as straight 2.2.17+patches) doesn't work with this system. As soon as the
module is loaded the system hard-locks with no errors, sysrq, or network
access.
I tried to get a newer driver, but it appears that all your drivers later
then the 1.2(?, whichever one is in 2.2.17) are made for 2.3+, and I'm
really not up to backporting a driver for a friends system. :P
I'd appreciate any advice or assistance you could provide. Thanks.
