Hi,
To Connect, the DNS has to be set to point to the ISP's DNS Server.
I use Gnome with Red Hat 6.1(From the same source as yours),
so I'am describing steps for Gnome here... ---->>

1.In Gnome goto Internet * Dialup Configuraion Tool
Enter the necessary details,it's a configuration wizard, with all
necessary help.

2. Configure the modem, leave all the defaults by all means if you are'nt
absolutely certain of what you are doing.
3.After Creating it goto 1. now, it'll show the account you created .
Choose Accounts*Edit*Advanced. Enter the First DNS ( i.e primary DNS), &
Second DNS (i.e Secondary DNS) of your ISP...
4.Check the button # Let PPP do all the authentication.
5. Save and come out and use the RH PPP Dialer(or any other...) to dial
your ISP,
You'll find it in the Internet menu from the foot.

regards
