"I have a Compaq PC model [ Armada 1700 that is under 1 year old ] that
has a < I dont know what > - [ How do I find out? ] display card with 32 MB
of RAM [ Is normal RAM the same as Display RAM ? ] , attached to a 15 inch
monitor that can do a max resolution of 1024 x 780 , and whose max
horizontal vertical frequencies are ____Hz and ____Hz (from the manual)
<----- [ Dont have a manual ! ] . I have the RedHat 6.0 Linux distribution
installed.
How to I configure X for this setup?" <--- it's configured :-)
Okay here goes ,
1 ] I set a power on password using Win 95 a long time back , and I'm
unable to remove it / change it . How do i achieve it from within Win 98 /
Linux ? If you're telling me to get to the Bios Startup Screen hitting some
key combination , give me the key combination as well ... - I've tried <del>
, <Ctrl> F1 - F10 ... And <shift> <ctrl> F1 - F10 .... yeah thats some 24
times of rebooting ;-)
Most common suggestions I got [ from another list ] where Ctrl F2 , Shift
Ctrl F2 and del and ESC ... in that order.... none of them take me to the
startup ... So if there's a way of changing the power on password from
within linux ... tell me .
2] When the laptop boots up , it sometimes happens that the system hangs @
Starting PCMCIA.... and I have to shut off power and re-start... and it
starts working fine , all of a sudden it goes KaPut ... Whats going on?
