I am a first time linux user.
I chose to install redhat linux 6.2 supplied on PCQuest June
2k CD on my computer that has the following configuration :
pIII-700
intel 815 eea motherboard (Of Intel make)
128 Mb RAM 20 Gb HDD
On this HDD 10 Mb primary partition has Win Me.
On extended partition I have logical drive D for data of 5 Mb
size
rest 5 Mb I reserved for Linux and started
installation.
Initially partitioning using Disk druid was problem but I
could manage it thro fdisk.
I chose custom installation and in LILO I specified dos as
default boot.
I now have two problems if anyone can help.
1. LILO is somehow not working. As I start
computer on blank screen only letters 'LI' appear and nothing happens further
than that. if I try to boot thro' boot floopy created during the process of
installation it boots but does not offer dos option. It only boots in
linux.
2. After booting screen resolution in Gnome
is 300 X 200. (I have onboard AGP that uses 2Mb memory from RAM)
Now I dont know how I can rectify both problems and also be
able to start windows.
