One of my friend is trying to play with sendmail and stuck. I have asked him
to search LIH archives but still posting the query for the time being...

We have faced one peculiar problem in our e-mail server.Sometimes all
e-mails are not going at all when people sendmail...When i found out in
maillog it said the following errror zycusmail ipop3d[18948]: Mailbox
vulnerable - directory /var/spool/mail must have 1777 protection
I searched in the net and found that permission has to set to 1777 in the
/var/spool/mail...I did that still mail was not going.. When i said mailq
it the following error appears
TAA11560 893 Mon Apr 2 19:20 <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
(host map: lookup (zycusmail.ezee): deferred)
<[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
I deleted all the mail in the queues and did some R/D like stoping and
starting the sendmail etc... and it started working.After 3 hrs it gave the
same problem...and after some time it started working.Still couldnt figure
out what is the problem.If u know what is it mail me...
