Anyone in the mood of helping OLPC support Hebrew?

Dear Hebrew Language Localizers,

Gut Yontiff. As the new year begins, perhaps you might be seeking
opportunities to perform mitzvot. I am writing to you because you
have in the past contributed to the Hebrew localization of Sugar on
our Pootle server.

The Sugar Labs / OLPC / eToys Localization community needs someone (or
several someones) that is (are) willing to take on the responsibility
of language administrator for Hebrew by reviewing and committing
completed PO files.

A quick review of language admin tasks can be found here:

http://wiki.sugarlabs.org/go/Translation_Team/Administration_QuickStart

If you are willing to take on this responsibility, please post to the
L10n list with your Pootle username and a request to be made language
administrator for lang-he.

A great many Hebrew strings have been completed in upstream FOSS
projects and those already translated "technical" strings can be
searched here:

http://open-tran.eu/

I've taken the liberty of searching and inserting some of these
strings (flagged as "fuzzy") in our PO files. We could pick up a lot
of committed lang-he strings very quickly if you would use the Review
tab of Pootle to scan through the "fuzzy" strings and "unfuzzy" and
commit those that are correct and useful.

Please consider contributing further to the L10n of lang-he in the
coming year and feel free to forward this message to anyone else that
might be capable and interested taking part in this good work.

Shalom,

cjl
Sugar Labs Translation Team Coordinator

P.S. We are starting to work on making it easier to test L10n
(although we still have a lot of work to do).

You could try following the (somewhat outdated) instructions on this page:
http://wiki.laptop.org/go/Localization/Testing

but download the language packs from this location instead:

http://translate.sugarlabs.org/langpacks/

It may not work right now as we are encountering some issues with
languages not in the default "11.2.0" language set, but we are working
our way through those problems. Help with testing and sorting out
these issues would also be welcome.
