I found that I could close the Control Panel and Root and Skype didn't crash on
me. I have no idea if it will do it for a third time. :)
I have also tried the following regarding permissions
I did
[r...@localhost ~]# cd /etc
[r...@localhost etc]# gedit /group
This opened Gedit and I added the following:
# Camera Group add Moshe
# Moshe
I also did the same to the file Gedit file "Group-"
In the Mandriva 2009.0 Gnome Console in Manage Users on System I selected the
Users tab and edited my Login ticking all the Groups present. I then removed
the tick on the Filter Users Tab.
I tried previously with a backslash typed in before -o skype.strace skype and
got the reply -o unknown command. Then I typed as follows and Skype openend and
the camera picture is good:
