There is a limit on how much I can push back the company's top brass -
I just have to provide working solutions.

While I am being listened to on many other technical aspects of the
business (when I started the company was essentially a windows shop
and the network had multiple "single point of failure", now it's
mostly a Linux/Xen shop humming along for months without any major
hitches with more windows servers planned to be decommissioned as new
versions get rolled out), using specific software internally just
because it's open source is not an argument they are going to pay
attention to.
