As promised, I return to this thread:
I compiled roadmap_editor, and it does run on the N810.
- I did not try navigation features.
- The program does not activate the GPS, so you need to run another
program that does (wayfinder, maemo-mapper).

It will probably run on N800, as well, though I don't know if it will
connect to external GPS correctly.
