Usually, there is no need to specify "-t <fs>"
Can you also paste the output of dmesg |tail after a successful failure ;-)

Also, I would make sure that you have the relevant kernel module. On my
ubuntu system I can see this:

[EMAIL PROTECTED] ~] $ modinfo isofs
filename:       /lib/modules/2.6.24-17-generic/kernel/fs/isofs/isofs.ko
alias:          iso9660
license:        GPL
