I was going to get the Bezeq supplied Rotal for 2 reasons - price and "insurance" that they can't claim my problems are because of unsupported hardware/software. But when I got there it turned out that they also had a Siemens SL2-141 for the same price. Since the name Siemens looks more "reputable" I took it - although they are probably both manufactured in the same Chinese factory - globalization :-)
In any case, it seems that I made a good choice. It works perfectly. I haven't had a chance to fully investigate all the functions like QoS, Dynamic DNS, etc, but the one thing I did check immediatelly is that the Firewall works out-of-the-box. With absolutely no configuration, I went to shields-up from different machines on my LAN and got a perfect stealth rating. In fact, after years of using IPtable, I've turned off my Linux Firewall. Since I don't run any servers that have to be accessed from outside of the LAN, I'm fine. I probably should setup remote access, but it's not high on my list of priorities - maybe I'll use the dynamic DNS function to do this eventually. -- Shlomo Solomon http://the-solomons.net Sent by KMail (KDE 3.5.4) on LINUX Mandriva 2007 ================================================================= To unsubscribe, send mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the word "unsubscribe" in the message body, e.g., run the command echo unsubscribe | mail [EMAIL PROTECTED]
