Have one MGE UPS Extreme 1000C. Very feature-full, for its low price
point (e.g. bypass mode for replacing batteries without turning
everything off, and that in a several-years old UPS). When batteries
needed replacing, I couldn't find anybody selling MGE batteries. I
started to call the importers directly. One country's importer (NL)
told me that the batteries were not available anymore, another
country's importer (BE) told me that the exact battery type was not
available anymore, but they had very similar ones that would be 3mm
too big to fit, and thus I wouldn't be able to cleanly close the cover
anymore, but they would ship a "velcro" tape pieces so that I can have
the cover not fall off. I bought these batteries from them:

 - they fit just as well as the original ones

 - they were actually a very, very standard model from ... Panasonic?
(not sure anymore) that can be had for much cheaper at many online
shops, and also in "clone" form from other reputable battery
   manufacturers (Sanyo? Not sure anymore).
