Hi all, We have a computer running Windows 2003 as a virtual host inside Xen. A couple of days ago the computer had a nasty shutdown. After that point, the Windows guest will simply not use more than 15% of the CPU from the host machine. I have a Windows machine working slowly, claiming to be at 100%, but running "xm top" shows that it only uses 12% CPU, and the rest is idle.
Aside from the Windows machine, the machine also runs several paravirtualized Linux machines. While they are naturally running less close to full capacity, it would appear (I ran "dd if=/dev/urandom of=/dev/null") that I cannot saturate their CPU use above 15% either. Unlike the Windows case, running top on the Linux machine actually shows the CPU as only 15% in use, but this may as well be due to the difference between the way Windows accounts for unused CPU and the way Linux does, so I'm not sure what this means. Anyone has any thoughts on what the problem may be? I checked the disks, and they appear not to be hurt. I am fairly certain that this was not the case prior to the unfortunate power cord pull incident, but I cannot tell for sure.
