Actually the license states:

  ... retains copyright to all of the xxxxx  system, and therefore 
  can grant, at its sole discretion, the ability for .....
  to create proprietary or Open Source (but non-GPL'd) 
  modules which may be dynamically linked at runtime with the portions 
  of ......

That limits the rights they retained. If they had addtionally retained
the rights to grant non GPL licenses to the system itself, then they
could, but they specificaly did not.

They also in other places rant on about how much they love and support the
GPL, and their product will remain GPL, and so on.
