Microsoft's DNS server ain't particularly bad (and its management tools are certainly better than Bind's). Don't knock it if you don't know it. On the other hand - maybe I can install a local one on my desktop machine
and update it with dnssec - any recommendations in that area (among the options available as Debian Etch packages)?
Bind (Debian "bind9" package) will do just fine.
