This included, until about one and a half year ago, old 486's. There are, probably, additional institutions which would welcome such donations... Another possibility is the free recycling organisation which someone mentioned on this list, a couple of months ago. Unfortunately, I very aptly deleted all the mail from the last year or so, and I am unable to give you the address.
