Just to put the record straight, Hula doesn't aim for any special Exchange interop. Essentially, it's an attempt by Novell to resurrect a dead product called NetMail, which they happily sold without any patent concerns (till it got old and irrelevant). During the development, Hula changed the direction a bit into a more social tool[1], but if anything, this only distanced it from Exchange.
