i looked at http://www.graphviz.org/ , but i'm looking for a different king
of graph -
a graph similar to what you get from a spreadsheet ( e.g. dots, lines, pie
chart, etc ...)

Image Graph Viz and roll your own.

It's pretty well documented and functional
