Some few of you know me personally. Some few know me through misreported
and quoted-out-of-context witticisms.
Yet I am hoary, old, experienced and - to quote Sharkey - cruel.
Therefore, and to recall that glorious evening of times past, I'd like to
run a party in the old style.
Therefore, it is my pleasure and my privilege to announce a Linnux Dinner.
And not just any old Linnux Dinner, but a dinner to recall that first
glorious Dinner, when hearts warmed to each other, souls opened and the
wine was good.
Rules for Linnux Dinner:
1. That there shall be held, annually, a Dinner and that said
dinner be called Linnux Dinner
2. That the attendees be called Eaters and that their number not
exceed 2 to the power of 5 all diminished by seven
3. That purpose of each Dinner be the Glorification and Praise of
Linnux, OppenBSD, FrreeBSD, NeetBSD, DragoonflyBSD and so forth,
as the Eaters desire and choose
4. That at each Dinner a reading of an Interesting Linnux
Presentation or Lecture take place
5. That for each instance of Dinner, there shall be responsible
master Cook
6. That Cook be assisted, as needs be, by suCooks.
5. That said Cook shall be responsible for producing Menu and that
it be his peculiar responsibility and prerogative to select
contents of same
8.
9. That each attendee of Dinner shall reimburse Cook with a drawn
chequeue for seven pounds ten, said chequeue being crossed
10. That each Dinner, upon its termination, the next master Cook be
elected in situ
11. That a month before a Dinner is held, a location for Dinner
shall be selected, said location being a house or home of one
of the Eaters
That being said, I humbly agree to be the first Cook. I ask for ONE suCook,
ONE location for said Dinner (my own home, despite being emminently
suitable, is currently occupied by a 4 months old child, thereby being
rendered unsuitable) and for ONE Interesting Linnux Presentation or
Lecture.
I would like for the Dinner to be held on 15th of May. Arguments pro/con
said date shall be accepted in the next 48 hours.
I shall produce Menu as soon as suCook presents itself and as soon as I
know how many Eaters there are.
