Hi, I am looking for a tool that provides me ssh/telnet equivalent functionality on a machine where I only have ftp access.
Sorely lacking in FTP generally is the ability to create symlinks, and to see out of your own FTP chroot. In theory it should not be too hard to write a script that provides roughly equivalent functionality by uploading a perl or PHP script and then executing it from http. I wrote a little kludge myself (below), but I am sure somebody else must have already done something like this. Some serious googling and freshmeating have failed to turn up any results. Anybody know of a tool like this ?
