When I bought my webcam (Logitech Pro 4000) I made sure it's supported
on Linux :)

Thanks. That's what I think I need to know - that Windows under VMware can
successfully access a webcam.

So now I hope it's worth the trouble to upgrade my hardware and buy Windows
XP.
